Scope creep starts when “done” is undefined. Three lines of scope before you prompt save an afternoon of reverting.

The three lines

  • Change: the one outcome you want.
  • Don’t touch: files, modules, or behaviors that are off-limits.
  • Done when: a check you can actually run or see.
Change: Submit button turns green on the signup form.
Don't touch: auth, routing, dependencies, any other component.
Done when: the button is #16a34a and all existing tests still pass.

Paste the three lines at the top of your request. If the assistant proposes anything outside them, it should ask first.
