Define Done Before You Start

In Episode 5, Nova marks trust as restored without anyone checking. The same thing happens with tasks: without an agreed finish line, “done” is whatever the assistant says it is.

Make done checkable

  • Observable: “The import finishes with 1,200 rows,” not “the import works.”
  • Runnable: a command, a test, or a page you can open.
  • Agreed up front: in the first prompt, not after the work.
Done means:
1. `npm test` passes (show the output)
2. `npm run lint` has no new warnings
3. /signup accepts plus-addressed emails like a+b@example.com
Don't report done until all three are true.

Trust grows from checks that pass, not from claims that sound sure.
