A local “it works for me” from an assistant is still a claim. Continuous integration runs the same checks, the same way, every time, and nobody can talk it into a green build.
Make CI the source of truth
- Require green CI before merging anything an assistant wrote.
- Run the same checks locally that CI runs, so surprises are rare.
- When CI fails, paste the CI log into the conversation, not your interpretation of it.
- Don’t let it “fix” CI by skipping or deleting tests. Review changes to test files twice.
The best part: when CI is the referee, you and your assistant stop arguing and start fixing.
